Standardization of Management Strategy for Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) under Different Levels of Crop Residue Retention in Conservation Agriculture

A field experiment was conducted at ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil Science (IISS), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) to evaluate the impact different levels crop residue retention and herbicidal weed control measures on dynamics, growth yield characteristics chickpea under conservation agriculture. Data were recorded study, characters chickpea. Results indicate that pre-emergence herbicide application treatments (H1 H2) found be effective in reducing density 30 DAS (63.56%) as compared post emergence which applied after recording observations DAS. It has been observed imazethapyr @ 25 g a.i. ha-1 restrict for a period 10-15 days treatments. The results parameters revealed higher level treatment (90% retention) significantly plant height (54.81cm), dry matter plant-1 (18.39 plant-1), number pods (36.46), seeds (47.11), seed (1202 kg ha-1) straw (2916 no retention.
